Part 2 Feb 2015- April 2015

Ava LOVES to play guitar with Laura!

We celebrated Chinese New Year (the year of the SHEEP!) with our other adoption friends at our annual get together hosted by the Harkness'. We missed last year due to our niece's wedding, so we were very happy to see everyone this year!

This is the first time I ever attempted to put Ava's hair in a bun! It turned out cute.

This is Ava with her best buddies Kai and Cam Furber!

Poppa came to visit us March 7th and we went to visit Laura in Dahlonega and have supper with her.

Christine left for New York with the High School Band on March 11th. She had a fabulous time and got to see all the wonderful sights and even got to go to 2 broadway shows. (Lion King and Phantom of the Opera)

Ava turned 6 on March 12th!!! It's so hard to believe my baby is six!!!!  Craig was out of town, Christine was in New York, Laura was at college, so it was just me and Ava. So what should two girls do to celebrate??? We went to the mall and ate her favorite Chinese food, rode on the carousel, took a train ride, and bought a few things!!! Ava wanted "glasses" at Claire's, so we bought those, and also Little Mermaid!! We wanted to wait for everyone else before we had cake and opened presents!

We celebrated Ava's birthday on Friday with Daddy, Laura and Mommy!
Since Ava really doesn't care much for sweets Laura picked out a cheesecake platter that was very good!!

Ava got her own "IPad" (really a Samsung tablet) for her birthday!! Now she doesn't have to fight Christine to use hers! She was very excited!

Ava got a really nice Build A Bear Gift Certificate LAST year for her birthday, but we never used it. It has taken Ava awhile to learn how to play with toys. She still doesn't play like most 6 year olds, but she is learning and more interested than she has been in the past. So we decided to use it this year. Ava picked out a bunny, and had a great time "putting in the stuffing" and giving it a bath!! After that she didn't really care whether her bunny had on clothes or not, so Laura, Christine and I helped her choose an outfit for "Bunny!" Yes, that's her name.

After Build A Bear, we had a girls night out at the Movies and saw Cinderella!! (While Daddy saw The American Sniper) This was Ava's first movie at a movie theatre and she LOVED it. We had popcorn and the works! When the movie was over, Ava sat there and kept saying "More, more!"

This is Ava at her new school!! We had an Easter Brunch where the children hunted for eggs and had a little party in the classroom.

These are two of Ava's sweet buddies at school. Julianna and Mariah!

Ava begged Laura to play guitar, so they serenaded us in our driveway!! Beautiful music!

Happy Easter!!! We went to church, then ate Mexican for lunch! We enjoyed the day together before Laura had to go back to college.

My beautiful big girls!!

Laura is so good at taking pictures. She was able to capture some beautiful pictures of Ava. I like to have the pictures, but I am NOT good about taking them. I try, but it doesn't come naturally! haha We definitely would not have all the pictures that we do if it weren't for Laura!!

Our Spring Break was immediately after Easter this year. Of course Craig had to work and Laura was at college, so it was just Christine, Ava and me. We spent most of our week just relaxing and getting caught up with various chores, and planning for upcoming events. On Wednesday we decided to go to the zoo! It turned out to be National Zoo Day, which was hilarious because it was probably the most crowded day we could have ever gone!! But we had fun. We bought a membership to the zoo this year since we won't be going on any vacations this summer (gotta save every penny for our adoption and travel expenses).  So we will surely go back on a day that's not so crowded and we can actually move around. Ava really liked the monkeys! Well tomorrow is back to school! Spring Break is over and we are SAD! But Ava and I only have 4 1/2weeks left of school until we are out, Laura only has about 3 weeks, and Christine has 6 weeks! Summer will be here before we know it!!
